Can Ryan O'shaughnessy Win Britain's Got Talent?

Ryan O'Shaughnessy has emerged as a viewers' favourite after his performance on last night's Britain's Got Talent (May 10, 2012). The Irish youngster performed a song that he had written himself; a ballad about a friend that he's in love with. Originally, he had been kicked out of the running for Britain's Got Talent but he was given a second chance, at the eleventh hour last week. "I just wanted to sing my own song and get feedback," he said. "It's crazy."

After the love-struck teenager had finished singing the song about his pal, Simon Cowell said to him "I wouldn't worry about her because you're going to get so much action after this. You are a brilliant songwriter." Ryan was voted through to the final of the show, though he faces some tough competition when he gets there. He was voted in along with the synchronized swimming troupe Aquabatique, who were tearful when they discovered that the viewers' votes had placed them in the final. They went through ahead of acrobat Billy George, who narrowly missed out on a place on the last round of the contest. There has been some controversy surrounding Aquabatique's entry into the competition, after it emerged that they were hand-picked by the show's producers. BGT's bosses have been accused of fixing the contest, as Aquabatique and Loveable Rogues were fast-tracked through the audition process.

Rebecca Ferguson, the former X Factor performer sang on last night's show, singing her latest track 'Glitter and Gold.' Despite having a broken leg, she still performed the song live, with her leg resting on a stool. She revealed to the show's hosts Ant and Dec that she had broken it after a night out.
