Calvin Harris - Calvin Harris makes chart history
Calvin Harris has overtaken Michael Jackson for the most top 10 singles from one studio album, achieving eight hits from '18 Months'.
Calvin Harris has made chart history with eight top 10 hits from one album.
The DJ has overtaken Michael Jackson for the most singles to chart in the top 10 of the UK singles chart from one album, after his latest track 'I Need Your Love' featuring Ellie Goulding - which is taken from his second studio album '18 Months' - rose to number seven over the weekend.
The record bests the late King of Pop's seven top 10 hits from 1987 album 'Bad', as well as another seven hits from 1991's 'Dangerous'.
Calvin celebrated his success, tweeting: ''Eight Top 10s from my album 18 Months now! So happy!!! (sic)''
Official Charts Company representative Martin Talbot said: ''Many artists only achieve a handful of hits in their entire careers, so for any act to secure three or four from one album is an excellent achievement.
''In turn, eight top 10s from one album is not just impressive, it is absolutely remarkable. And, of course, record breaking. Congratulations to Calvin Harris, the modern day hit-maker.''
The Scottish DJ's impressive chart tally includes two number one singles - 'We Found Love' with Rihanna and 'Sweet Nothing' featuring Florence Welch - and four number two singles, including collaborations with Kelis, Ne-Yo and Example.
Calvin's chart reign with '18 Months' began with 'Bounce' featuring Kelis, which was released in June 2011.
Meanwhile, the album also topped the charts upon its release in October 2012.
