Butler Rules Out Suede Reunion
The Animal Nitrate hitmakers were forced to seek a replacement for Butler after he walked out in 1994 during recording sessions for their second album, Dog Man Star.
They finally split for good in 2003, and although they have recently reunited for several nostalgia shows, Butler is adamant he won't be joining his former bandmates onstage.
Singer Brett Anderson tells Mojo magazine, "Part of me would love to play these songs with Bernard again, but a part knows it probably won't ever happen. Anyway, it's too complex, emotionally, to orchestrate. And Bernard hates the idea of reunions."
Butler adds, "It's not on the cards. I've always told Johnny (Marr), Don't reform The Smiths."
