Busta Rhymes - Busta Rhymes Reunites Leaders Of The New School At Music Festival
Rapper Busta Rhymes reunited with his former Leaders Of The New School bandmates onstage on Saturday (14Jul12) for the first time in almost 20 years.
The I Know What You Want hitmaker brought an all-star line-up to perform alongside him as he headlined New York's 8th Annual Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, with special guests including A Tribe Called Quest's Q-Tip and Phife Dawg, M.O.P.'s Lil Fame, Buckshot and Smif-N-Wessun.
But the crowd was left awestruck when Rhymes called for his "two brothers" to join him under the spotlight, prompting Charlie Brown and Dinco D to emerge from backstage. It was the first time the Leaders of the New School crew appeared in public together since 1993, when the band split.
The regrouped Leaders of the New School performed tracks like Case of the P.T.A. and Scenario, while Rhymes also played a collection of hits from his lengthy career, including Pass the Courvoisier, Ante Up, Woo Hah! Got You All In Check, Look At Me Now and Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See.
The hip-hop star also used the opportunity to pay tribute to late producer J Dilla before launching into his track Bounce, saying, "Rest in peace, Dilla, this is one of my favorite Dilla beats."
