Bush Rejected Rotten's Song
The Sex Pistols frontman composed the track especially for the Wuthering Heights hitmaker who misunderstood the lyrics, fearing they were insults aimed at her.
Rotten - real name John Lydon - explains, "Years ago, I sent her a song I'd written. I don't think she understood it. It was called Bird In Hand. It was about the illegal exportation of parrots from South America - no, don't laugh! It's a serious subject. It's cruel.
"But I think she thought it was a reference to her, which it certainly wasn't! But she's a wonderful, wonderful woman, stunningly innovative and creative. One of our finest."
