Burton: 'Living In London Is Like Being In A Hammer Film'
Film-maker Tim Burton loves his adopted hometown of London because its streets remind him of vintage British horror films.
Burton grew up in Los Angeles but now lives in the UK's capital city with his partner Helena Bonham Carter and their toddler son.
And the Edward Scissorhands director enjoys some of London's more gothic architecture.
He tells London magazine Time Out, "I'm much happier in (London) - I like the weather, I like walking, I like being a foreigner. I felt like a foreigner growing up in LA so now I feel comfortable being a foreigner.
"And maybe it's because I watched too many Hammer horror films, but I feel like I'm living in one, which makes me very happy.
"I do like it when it rains. It depresses a lot of people but I get quite excited when it rains, I like it. Maybe it's because I'm from southern California."
