British singer Alexandra Burke is hoping to patch up her relationship with her mother by recording a duet with her.
The pop star's success after she won Britain's The X Factor competition was tainted by reports of a feud with her mum Melissa, who once sang with the group Soul II Soul.
However, Burke wants to put aside their differences to record a track together for her next album.
She tells Britain's Daily Star, "She is a big influence. She does backing vocals on it already. Now I want a duet with her."
Melissa suffers from kidney disease and Burke insists she doesn't want her mother to work too hard, adding, "I have to be careful because my mummy's not too well.
"She can't get up and sing as much as I want her to. But I'd like her on a track. It's not finished until she's on it."
