Buffalo Springfield - Buffalo Springfield Head Out For More Dates
Reunited rock icons Buffalo Springfield are hoping to follow up a recent seven-date get together with a full-blown 30-gig tour later this year (11).
The group, featuring Neil Young, Stephen Stills and Rick Furay, will wrap up the reunion dates - their first in 43 years - on Saturday night (11Jun11) at the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee, but guitarist Furay, who is now a pastor, insists the tour will not be a one-off.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "The plan is to do 30 dates this fall. The anchors will be Los Angeles and New York. What the other cities are, I can't tell you right now but we're almost certainly doing Red Rocks (in Colorado).
"There have been people from Florida, Chicago and Texas saying to me, 'Hey, you gonna come my way?' I have to say that with 30 shows, we're gonna hit those cities."
And Furay insists the tour won't interfere with his work as a pastor at Calvary Chapel Church in Broomfield, Colorado.
He adds, "The church has been very supportive of this tour. I have an assistant pastor that's doing some of the Sundays and we have a guest speaker come in too. Everybody's taken care of."
