Bruce Springsteen - Bruce Springsteen Springs Surprise On Sxsw Revellers

Bruce Springsteen delighted music fans at the Sxsw Festival on Wednesday (March 14, 2012), making a surprise appearance on lead guitar (and backing vocals) during Alejandro Escovedo's closing set at the Austin Music Awards, reports Rolling Stone magazine.
After performing 'The Highway is My Home', the Texan singer-songwriter told the audience, "We need one more guitar player", with Springsteen arriving on-stage to a roar of delight from the crowd. Donning a black and white checked shirt, the E Street Band man helped Alejandro rip through a version of The Midnight Train, taking on the feedback-heavy guitar solo with aplomb. Later in the set, Escovedo began telling a story about his own guest slot at a Springsteen gig in Houston a couple of years ago, saying it "changed his life". The pair went on to play 'Always a Friend' and the pilgrim song 'Going Down the Road Feeling Bad' - again with Springsteen on lead-guitar. The fans certainly got their money's worth on the night, with Escovedo yelling "One more!" as The Boss began to leave the stage - the duo subsequently crashed into a version of the Rolling Stones' 'Beast of Burden'.
