Bruce Springsteen has attempted to use his worldwide fan-base to help find the missing Boston College student Franco Garcia, who disappeared over a week ago. The Boss took to both Facebook and Twitter to alert fans of the disappearance, posting a missing person poster on Wednesday (February 29, 2012).
Garcia has been missing since he left a popular Boston College bar on February 22, 2012. As well as the posters, Springsteen also tweeted a request for anyone with information about the cause to call the Newton Police Department. The musician is personally linked to the case, given his son also attends Boston College, though it is not clear whether the two students know each other. Like Springsteen, the missing 21-year-old is musically inclined and plays the clarinet in the symphony band as well as studying medicine. According to the Boston Globe Newton police searched Garcia's home this week, looking for evidence that they could use to locate the missing student. A team of search divers have searched for Garcia at the Chestnut Hill reservoir, though found nothing. The area was the last place in which Franco's phone signal was traced, though authorities admit it may not be totally accurate.
