Bruce Springsteen Announces Wrecking Ball Tour Dates
The festival's programmer Quint Davis has told Usa Today that he faced a huge problem trying to fit in Springsteen's 11th hour request to play at the already fully-booked festival. "This festival is already booked and programmed hour by hour, and here's someone who plays closer to three hours than two," he says. "And everything has to fit just right." Luckily for Springsteen, John Mayer agreed to play earlier on in the day, giving up his closing spot for Springsteen and allowing the 'Born To Run' singer to reprise the moment in which he wowed the festival's audience in 2006. David told reporters "What he did that day was transformative, one of the transcendent moments in Jazz Fest history. He put away his Boss hat and was Right Reverend Springsteen, ministering to the crowd."
Wrecking Ball, the new album from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, is scheduled for release on March 6th 2012 and will mark Springsteen's 17th studio album.
