Bruce Springsteen - Bruce Springsteen Announces Eight New Stadium Dates
Bruce Springsteen may still be in the first leg of his Wrecking Ball world tour but he has just announced another string of stadium dates, starting August 18, 2012. The Boss is currently on tour, along with his regular backing band, the E Street Band to promote his latest album, Wrecking Ball.
As well as announcing the eight new stadium dates, Springsteen has also released a live video of 'Death to My Hometown,' which features footage from New York's Apollo Theatre, the South by Southwest festival and the first date of the tour in Atlanta. Rolling Stone has posted the video on their site, with news of the forthcoming dates. The video also includes footage of Tom Morello (of Rage Against The Machine) playing guitar with the band. This current leg of the tour kicked off in Atlanta, on March 18, 2012 and Springsteen's guitarist Steve Van Zandt told Rolling Stone "The second half of the tour tends to loosen up a bit, get a little bit more spontaneous, a little bit crazier." The last date of the initial leg of the tour takes place in Newark on May 2nd, before the group heads to Europe for the summer. The eight stadium dates later in the year begin at Boston's Gillette Stadium on August 18, 2012 and end with three dates at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.
This tour is the first that Springsteen has undertaken since the death of his former band member, Clarence Clemons. Clemons' nephew, Jake, has replaced him on saxophone duties.
