Sting, Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi are playing a benefit concert for the victims of Hurricane Sandy today (02.11.12).
The 'Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together' telethon and concert will feature Jon, legendary musician Bruce Springsteen and his E Street band - who also hail from New Jersey - Sting, as well as pop sensation Christina Aguilera, Jimmy Fallon and Billy Joel.
The concert will be televised from NBC facilities in the Rockefeller Center in New York City and all proceeds raised will be donated to the American Red Cross, who are providing food, shelter and support to those who are struggling after being hit by the hurricane.
Jon has pledged to help those affected by the storm rebuild their lives after it hit his native New Jersey, causing billions of dollars of damage and leaving many homeless.
The star cut short his promotional duties in Europe to fly back and comfort his family and friends in the States, telling the MailOnline: ''I really need to get back home having spoken to my wife and kids, who are stuck in New York. I need to be with my people. Thankfully, my family are safe.''
The show will be streamed on NBC.com at midnight tonight.
