Bruce Springsteen And Co. Hit The Road With Force Despite Loss

Bruce Springsteen performs 'out of his skin' to honour Clarence Clemons.

Last June saw the untimely death of legendary saxophonist Clarence Clemons, who had long been an integral part of the E-Street Band set up. Now Bruce Springsteen and his renowned backing group are on the road once more as they perform a handful warm up shows before the extensive Summer/Autumn stadium tour kicks off later in the year, with the memory of Clemons still embedded in their minds. An article at Cleveland.com states that each show will try to honour the memory of the late sax-man; with guitarist/backing singer Nils Lofgren saying that he misses him "terribly" before their sell-out show at New York's Madison Square Garden.

After assuming saxophone duties for the past 27 years, Clemons left some enormous shoes to fill. The void he left has now been bolstered by two saxophone players; JAKE CLEMONS, Clarence's nephew, and EDDIE MANNION who are part of a 5-piece horn section. Despite the loss, reviews have been entirely positive of the shows Bruce and his compatriots have already performed, with the first tour since Clemon's death beginning last month. The tour, which is in promotion of the Wrecking Ball album, has visited various stadiums in the US already before the Boss takes on a number of enormous shows later in the year.
