Browne And Third Eye Blind Play For Protesters
The three artists braved the cold and windy weather to stage brief acoustic gigs in the demonstrators' former makeshift base in Manhattan's Zuccotti Park as activists campaigning against corporate greed gathered to watch the impromptu shows.
According to reports, Browne strummed on his guitar as he sang Casino Nation, while Dawes treated protesters to a rendition of When My Time Comes, among other songs.
After the mini-concerts, campaigners took to the streets, marching across the city to show their support for members of the New York City Central Labor Council, who are organising their own rally to call for job and economic equality.
Rock veterans David Crosby and Graham Nash, folk singer Peter Seeger, Rage Against the MAChine's Tom Morello, and rapper Talib Kweli have all performed for activists since the Occupy movement began in September (11).
