Brooks Hits Back At Song Critic
Former Brooks & Dunn star Kix Brooks is taking aim at critics poking fun at his new single New To This Town, insisting he's more than qualified to write a heartbreak song - even though he's been happily married for 30 years.
The song is rising up the country charts and winning a lot of radio play but not everyone's a fan.
Brooks says, "One critic's saying, 'How can you write about this heartbreak when you've been married for 30 years?'
"As a creative person, you always draw on the things that you see around you and the places that you've been and the emotions that you've felt. And if you're confined to write about just what you're doing currently in your life, I think you're pretty boring as a writer."
