Actress-turned-reality Tv star Brooke Burke Charvet is recovering after undergoing thyroid surgery following her recent cancer diagnosis.
The former Dancing With the Stars co-host, who is married to Baywatch hunk David Charvet, went public with her health crisis last month (Nov12), and on Wednesday (05Dec12) she underwent a life-saving procedure to have her thyroid gland removed via a large incision on her neck.
She posted an image of herself lying in a hospital bed on Twitter.com and wrote, "Last looks at my neck. Here we go."
And on Thursday (06Dec12) she returned to her social networking account to update fans and thank her doctor for his steady hands.
She tweeted, "Dr Adashek is a genius Thx Dr! Feels like I got hit (by) a car... Thank God it's over. I'm clean, surgery went well & I can talk. Losing My voice was my biggest fear. Thx for all your prayers & light."
Burke Charvet isn't the first Tv star to develop thyroid cancer - Modern Family beauty Sofia Vergara previously battled and beat the disease in 2000.
