Britney Spears' former manager SAM LUFTI has denied reports he is suing the star's parents to pay off his mounting debts. Lutfi, who is reportedly facing foreclosure on his California home after allegedly running up more than $18,000 (£12,000) in debt, has filed legal action against Lynne and Jamie Spears, accusing them of defamation.
But his lawyer Bryan Freedman is adamant the suit was not filed to make money - insisting housing bosses have merely lost Lutfi's payments.
He tells E!Online, "Its nonsense. The homeowners association misplaced two checks. The checks were paid. This is just more lies and misrepresentation about a guy who is a great caring human being.
Spears' parents have publicly blamed Lutfi for the series of emotional breakdowns that lead to the Toxic hitmaker losing custody of her two sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline in 2007.
Lufti, Spears' manager during her meltdown, filed a defamation lawsuit against the pop star's parents on Wednesday (04Feb09), alleging their claims that he drugged the star were untrue and had caused him "humiliation" and "distress".
