Britney Spears has announced that she has recorded a new song 'Ooh La La' for 'The Smurfs 2' soundtrack. The track was produced by collaborators on her Femme Fatale soundtrack and will play during the end credits to the Smurfs sequel, due out in U.S. theaters on July 31, 2013. Spears joins Katy Perry on the project, with the 'California Gurls' singer reprising her role as the voice of Smurfette.

"I have always loved the Smurfs as a kid and now my boys are the biggest Smurfs fans EVER," Spears said in a release. "I wanted to surprise them with a song in the movie. I know they'll think it's Smurftastic!" Britney - clearly pretty excited at the prospect of joining the film - also tweeted on Wednesday, "Remember that surprise song I recorded for my boys? It's coming soon! #OohLaLa for #TheSmurfs2 :) Stay tuned for more ..." We're expecting to tune to be the greatest pop track ever written given it took four people to write the thing. Bonnie McKee, Lola Blanc, J Kash and Fransisca Hall are score writing credits, while Lukasz Gottwald and Ammo Cirkut are listed as producers.

It's been a pretty good start to the year for Britney, who recently scored a Top 5 hit with 'Scream & Shout', her collaboration with Will.i.am. Forbes report that she was the highest paid female musician of 2012, with earnings of around $58 million. She last topped the list in 2002.
