Alan Halsall - British Soap Stars Expecting A Baby

British soap stars Alan Halsall and Lucy-Jo Hudson are expecting their first child together.

The actors, who met on the set of U.K. soap opera Coronation Street, are now preparing to become first-time parents.

Halsall announced the news in a post on his Twitter.com page on Monday (18Feb13), writing, "My wife... & I are very excited to announce that we are expecting our 1st child... We are both over the moon!"

While Hudson adds, "Thank you for your beautiful messages! Alan Halsall and I are so excited... I can't wait to be mummy (sic)."

The couple met on the long-running show and began dating in 2005. They married in 2009.

Halsall remains a member of the Coronation Street cast, while Hudson left to pursue other projects.
