British Sea Power - British Sea Power Play Protest Gig On Boat

Cult rockers British Sea Power have channelled the spirit of punk legends the Sex Pistols by playing a gig on board a boat sailing along London's Thames River to protest against social change in the U.K.
The band took to the waves earlier this month (Mar11) and performed songs aboard a ship as it floated near the Houses of Parliament to show their opposition to the British government's controversial spending cuts.
Guitarist Martin Noble tells Q magazine, "So much of what this government is proposing is based on short-term gain, long-term pain politics."
In 1977, the Sex Pistols caused outrage by playing their anti-monarchy anthem God Save The Queen on board a boat on the Thames as the U.K. celebrated Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee.
