British musician Pete Hayes has died at the age of 25.
Hayes, who was the drummer in U.K. group Echo Lake, passed away last Thursday (21Jun12) following a stint of ill health. No further details of his death have been released.
Taking to the act's official website, bandmate Thom Hill writes, "We are so sad to say that our close friend and brilliant drummer Peter Hayes passed away on Thursday morning at the age of 25.
"Always caring, always giving, always straight up and always with such a positive outlook on life. That was the thing with Pete, he just got on with it. Even in his last few weeks he would be sitting up in his hospital bed smiling and having a laugh with me."
'Smalls Change (Meditations Upon Ageing)' arrives in April.
The two awards have made for a great 72nd birthday present for the country music icon.
