Beloved British funnyman Mike Winters has died at the age of 82.

The comic passed away at his home in Gloucestershire, England following a short illness.

Winters shot to fame with his brother Bernie, and they became one of the biggest double-acts in the U.K. after World War Ii.

Making their first big Tv appearance in 1955, they won a huge fanbase through televised variety shows before landing their own series in 1965, which ran until 1973. The show attracted guests including The Beatles.

Mike moved to America after falling out with his brother, who died in 1991.

He is survived by his wife, Cassie, two children and five grandchildren.
