Britain's Underage Festival Cancelled

A London music festival for teenagers has been scrapped due to production complications caused by the Olympic Games.
Soul singer Lianne La Havas and rock bands Pulled Apart By Horses and Foals were among the acts lined up to perform at next month's (Aug12) Underage Festival, an annual event for 13 to 18-year-old music fans.
However, the 2012 gig has been called off, with organisers citing "production problems" after they changed venues to accommodate Olympics festivities in the U.K. capital.
A post on the Underage website reads, "It is with great sadness that we announce Underage Festival will no longer be taking place this year on Friday 31st August. Due to the Olympics we were forced into moving from our usual date and home in Victoria Park to a later date and new location in Shoreditch Park. Despite a positive start to the site move from Victoria Park and repeated assurances that production levels would be suitable for a festival of this kind, we now find ourselves in a situation where we have no choice but to cancel the event.
"After the amount of work we have put in over the last six years to make Underage Festival the successful event it is today, it is incredibly sad that we have to make this decision, and one that has not been made lightly."
Underage Festival is expected to return in 2013.
