Britain's Got Talent Beats Doctor Who In Saturday Ratingsby Contributor | 12 April 2009
The new series of Britain's Got Talent beat the latest Doctor Who special episode in the TV ratings last night.
The ITV talent show drew some 11 million viewers on Easter Saturday, while David Tennant and his TARDIS over on BBC One attracted 8.7 million people.
Hosted by Ant and Dec, Britain's Got Talent saw the judging panel of Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden all return for the third series, which last year was won by the teenage breakdancer George Sampson.
Model Kelly Brook had been lined up to become the fourth judge for the show but was axed back in January, just days after being unveiled.
The Doctor Who special saw former EastEnders actress Michelle Ryan and comedian Lee Evans join Tennant for the first of four specials which will mark the end of his tenure as the famous time-travelling doctor.
