Bret Michaels - Bret Michaels To Rework Every Rose With Loretta Lynn

Poison rocker Bret Michaels is set to revamp his classic ballad Every Rose Has Its Thorn with country queen Loretta Lynn for a new album.
Michaels recorded the track in 2010 with Miley Cyrus and now he's eyeing another duet with the Coal Miner's Daughter singer for Get Your Rock On.
He tells RollingStone.com, "Loretta Lynn and I are gonna redo Every Rose Has Its Thorn together. For me, growing up in a family that loved country music... this is gonna be a really awesome time.
"I met her at Thanksgiving (11) and it was really great. We were out at her ranch in Hurricane Mills (Tennessee) and we sat there, me and her, and after everyone, the whole family and my crew sort of dissipated, we sat there and started writing some songs together.
"One of the ideas she had was redoing Every Rose Has Its Thorn and I thought it would be unbelievable for me and her to do that together."
Jimmy Buffett and Def Leppard's Phil Collen will also join Michaels on his new album.

Bret Michaels Forced To Cancel Friday's Show Due To Ongoing Health Issues 4221478 News

Bret Michaels' recent health issues have unfortunately forced him to cancel Friday's show (May 30th).

The 51 year-old rocker, who was performing in New Hampshire on Thursday night, was rushed off stage only three songs in to be seen by paramedics.

Michaels, who was the frontman for mental band Poison, is a lifelong sufferer of type 1 diabetes and this condition caused the healthcare.

According to Pete Evick, a friend and guitarist touring with Michaels, the singer's "blood sugar was extremely low," but his fans were on the forefront of his mind even in "his sickest of conditions" as he made sure Evick apologised to the fans on his behalf.

Michaels' next show was scheduled for tonight at the Wilkes-Barre, Penn., along with Charlie Daniels Band and Marshall Tucker Band.

But only hours before Michaels was supposed to take to the stage an update was posted on his Facebook page:

"As previously announced, Entertainer Bret Michaels was physically forced to leave the stage last night at the Palace Theater in Manchester, New Hampshire due to complications involving insulin shock & severe low blood sugar, along with other conditions which doctors later determined included exhaustion/dehydration/fever and the noro flu virus. Michaels attempted to return to the stage to finish the show however it was clear to the band, crew, and audience that he would not be able to continue, as he walked of the stage and became violently ill.

"Paramedics present at the show immediately responded and 911 was notified. Unable to keep substance in his system complications with his insulin levels and inability to balance his blood sugar levels arose. Michaels was rushed by ambulance to CMC (Catholic Medical Center), and monitored through the evening as doctors tried to bring his blood sugar back to healthy levels.

"Under strict medical direction Michaels will not be able to perform this evening in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania as doctors have ordered him to let the flu virus run its course and let his blood sugar rebalance and remain consistent. While hoping to perform tomorrow in Albany, type 1 diabetes complicates health issues such as the noro flu virus and must be monitored and taken very seriously."

The Norovirus can lead to dehydration, which could explain the reason for Michaels' blood sugar to be so low.

Bret Michaels Meltdown: Did It Happen, Or Is it A Vicious Web Rumor? 3541663 News

Bret Michaels' meltdown has been a point of online discussion for over 24 hours now, though nobody really knows quite whether it happened or not. In case you hadn't heard, Michaels was the first competitor fired by Donald Trump on the premiere of 'All-Star Celebrity Apprentice.' It was shock result, though RadarOnline.com said the Poison rocker completely broke down afterwards. "Bret was crying and totally distraught after he was fired," said a source, "He couldn't believe it that he was let go so quickly. It was brutal to watch him freaking out the way he did." The insider said Bret was certain he was going to win for a second time.

The report is at odds with new information given to Zap2It's Molly Chance, which reports of there being no "meltdown" after the Celebrity Apprentice taping. A production insider says Bret "wasn't stoked" about getting the boot, though left the show with his head held high. "Bret was not happy to be fired, but did not have a meltdown," said the insider, who noted that Michaels was trying to earn some cash for a cause close to his heart, the American Diabetes Foundation. His team-mate Omarosa Manigault appeared to conspire to get him eliminated from the show, which hurt Michaels the most.

Michaels - who suffers from Type 1 Diabetes - brought in $640,000 for his chosen foundation after winning season three of the reality show.

Poison Singer Bret Michaels Has Meltdown Over Celebrity Apprentice Firing 3540195 News

When Bret Michaels was invited back onto the US version of Celebrity Apprentice, as a past champion, he probably wasn’t expected to be the first contestant to be booted off the show. Having said that, when Donald Trump fired Bret Michaels, who returned to the show as a past champion, he probably wasn’t expecting Bret to have a mini-meltdown over it. It’s just for fun, after all, right? Right, Bret?

Apparently not, as RadarOnline report that Bret took the whole thing rather hard and the Poison singer had to be comforted by the shows producers, it appears. An insider on the show told the site “Bret was crying and totally distraught after he was fired.” It seems as though the long-haired rocker was convinced that he’d be able to repeat his former success on the show once more and was shocked when that turned out not to be the case this time around. “Bret totally went into the show believing he was going to win,” the source explained. “He couldn’t believe it that he was let go so quickly. It was brutal to watch him freaking out the way he did… It was a mess when Bret was told the news and filming was done… No one expected him to have a meltdown like that.”

Still, Trump had to choose between Michaels and La Toya Jackson and he opted to give Michaels the boot, safe in the knowledge that he’d already had his time in the limelight. So, was Bret ever really in with a chance, or was Trump simply toying with him by inviting him back?

Celebrity Apprentice Line-Up Revealed: The Busey Is Back! 3323582 News

The Celebrity Apprentice has revealed its cast for its forthcoming new series. Donald Trump returns to host the show and there are fourteen "celebrities" (the term appears to be getting more and more loosely judging by the names involved) who will be vying for the attention of the business mogul.

Ready for some the list, then? Here you go: Bret Michaels, Trace Adkins, Lil Jon, Marilu Henner, Lisa Rinna, La Toya Jackson, Gary Busey, Stephen Baldwin, Penn Jillette and Omarosa are among the names included for the forthcoming season. Busey's a personal favourite of ours thanks to his hilariously awful turn in the 1992 classic 'Under Siege'. If this season goes anything like that film, expect Busey to be bursting out of a cake dressed as a woman and wearing lipstick. Will it be enough to win him the competition? Hard to tell.

Stephen Baldwin commented on the show "So far it's been very sweet and peaceful and calm, but that's kind of scary. I think we've got a couple of zingers coming. It should be very exciting." Bret Michaels comeback to the show will hopefully be a smoother one for him. The Poison front man won the 2010 edition of the program, but did so whilst battling serious health problems. "I was really sick, and this time I'm ready to come back, but being a lifelong diabetic, I'm ready," he said. The winner, as usual, gains $250,000 for a charity of their choice. and a badly needed profile boost.

Michaels Keeps Daughter's Diabetes In Check 1666483 News Bret Michaels ensures his daughter eats a healthy diet and sees a nurse every day in a bid to control her diabetes.
The rocker's eldest child, Raine, has previously tested for high blood sugar, and Michaels - who has suffered from type-one diabetes since the age of six - admits it was a shock to learn her diagnosis was more serious than doctors first thought.
He reveals the 10 year old is "pretty diabetic" and he and his partner Kristi work hard to make sure Raine stays healthy.
Michaels tells Cnn's chat show host Piers Morgan, "For me, (finding out was) very, very painful. Being a diabetic my whole life and I fight so hard to raise so much money for that cause and I said here's the bittersweet moment in my life, right here.
"Why I broke down, first of all it's my daughter... you dont want anything to happen to your kids. When I found out that she had tested before, earlier in life, for high blood sugar, what is known as pre-diabetes... as a dad it rocked my world. She's my first girl. What was bittersweet in that exact moment is I also have to show strength as this is what I'm fighting for.
"She's pretty diabetic and we have her on a complete diet and she sees a nurse every day. She's not a full-blown, type-one diabetic yet, but that's what we're fighting, that's what happens in most kids. I gotta tell her to be positive. We do exercise and we do stuff all the time."

Michaels Launches New Motorcycle Award 1671786 News Rocker BRET MICHAELS has teamed up with motorcycle racing bosses to develop a new award for riders who have triumphed over hardship.
The Poison star, a longtime motocross supporter, has created the Bret Michaels Rock Hard-Ride Hard award with officials at the American Motorcyclist Association to celebrate the 'comeback rider' of the upcoming 2011 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season.
The winner, to be determined by rankings and fans' votes, will be handed a cash prize and a trophy at the season finale in Las Vegas in May (11).
Michaels says, "It isn't whether you are going to go down, but when and how hard. It's how you roll with the punches and how you get back up that counts. This award is about recognising the hard-charging rider that overcomes the worst odds and makes an amazing recovery."
Michaels is no stranger to overcoming health obstacles - last year (10), he underwent an emergency appendectomy before collapsing from a near-fatal brain haemorrhage. He also suffered a stroke and was diagnosed with a hole in his heart. The singer will undergo surgery later this month (Jan11) to close the hole.

Michaels Quit Alcohol After Health Nightmare 1673694 News Rocker BRET MICHAELS has committed himself to a life of complete sobriety following his health nightmare earlier this year (10) - because he refuses to kill himself drinking alcohol after battling to recover from his ailments.
The Poison star underwent an emergency appendectomy before collapsing from a near-fatal brain haemorrhage in April (10). He later suffered a stroke and was subsequently diagnosed with a hole in his heart.
Michaels has made a miraculous comeback from his health troubles and returned to the stage to complete his U.S. tour shortly after his hospitalisation, but he admits he's not fully recovered.
He tells People magazine, "I'm only 85 per cent back, so I can't kickbox. I have short-term memory loss, so I have to repeat things to myself over and over. And I haven't had a good night's sleep since. My goal next year is to rock harder and sleep more!"
And Michaels reveals he's turned his back on his wild days of partying so he can keep rocking into old age and treasure the time he has with his girlfriend Kristi Gibson and their two kids, Raine, 10, and Jorja, five.
He says, "I haven't had a drop of alcohol since my appendectomy. I didn't fight through this to want to die...
"My thing now is spending time with Kristi and our daughters. I don't want my legacy to be a haemorrhage. I want it to be: I'm a fighter, I'm passionate, I'm hardworking, and I love music."
Michaels, who is also diabetic, is due to go under the knife in January (11) to repair the hole in his heart.
