Bret Michaels Could Be Performing Again Within Weeks
BRET MICHAELS, the 47-year-old American rocker and frontman of the band POISON, could be performing again with weeks after undergoing a successful heart operation.
The singer had surgery on Monday (24th January 2011) to repair a hole in the heart which doctor's discovered when they treated the rocker for a near fatal brain haemorrhage back in 2010. The operation, which took place at the St Josephs hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, was hailed a success and the singer returned home with his fiancee KRISTI GIBSON and their two daughters yesterday. DR MANSOUR ASSAR, who carried out the surgery, told People Magazine that Michaels' fans could expect to see the star back on the stage within weeks, he said, "Bret's procedure had excellent results. Because of the successful outcome and Bret's determination, I believe he will be able to return to normal activity within weeks".
Michaels has suffered from a number of health issues in recent years. In April 2010, the singer was rushed to hospital after experiencing intense stomach pains and an emergency appendectomy was performed. He also suffered a mini stroke after undergoing surgery for a brain haemorrhage.
