Russell Brand - Brand's Hop Leaps To The Top Of The Box Office

Russell Brand's new family comedy Hop has jumped to the top of the U.S. box office with an opening weekend $38.1 million (£23.8 million) take.
The Easter-themed movie, in which the British funnyman voices a bunny character, matched the year's best debut so far - for Johnny Depp's Rango.
Ironically, Brand presented Depp with the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award for Best Movie Actor on Saturday night (02Apr11).
Meanwhile, Jake Gyllenhaal's action thriller Source Code debuted at number two with $15.1 million (£9.4 million), and horror film Insidious opened at number three.
Last week's number one film, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, fell to four.
