Lorenzo Semple, Jr., the brains behind the Batman Tv series, has died a day after celebrating his 91st birthday.
The beloved screenwriter, who created scripts for classic films like Three Days of the Condor, Papillon and Bond film Never Say Never Again, passed away on Friday (28Mar14) at his home in Los Angeles.
His impressive resume also includes Dino De Laurentiis' 1976 King Kong epic and Flash Gordon.
He also created R-rated YouTube series Reel Geezers, in which he reviewed movies.
Semple was responsible for the iconic 'Pow!' and 'Kapow!' graphics that popped up on screen during Batman Tv fight scenes. He also wrote the screenplay for the 1966 Batman movie.
His daughter is the novelist and Emmy-nominated comedy writer-producer Maria Semple.
