Bradley Cooper Wants To Put Elephant Man On Broadway

The star of The Hangover, films, Bradley Cooper has stated his desire to give his recent project, the theatrical adaption Elephant Man, a limited run on Broadway. "We're going to try to do it on Broadway next fall. We're going to try to nail it down and do a limited run," the 37-year-old actor told The Huffington Post.

Williamstown, Massachusetts is enjoying it's annual theatre festival, and director Jenny Gersten called Elephant Man a "season highlight" but also intimated that nothing has been finalised, so it may be a while before Broadway sees Cooper's hit play. The writer, Bernard Pomerance, had previously requested that only critics review the play, and the critics had only positive things to say. "To watch Cooper and [co-star Patricia] Clarkson work together has to be one of the great moments of the storied Williamstown Theatre Festival," wrote critic Larry Murray for Berkshire on Stage.

If Cooper gets his way, he'll be in for a busy year, with Clint Eastwood also publically stating his artistic decisions. The Western star and now film director has stated that The Hangover star is his first choice to act opposite Beyonce in his new film, A Star Is Born. With previous experience on Broadway, having performed Three Days of Rain in 2006, and the positive reviews received, Cooper will be positive about his chances of gracing the world famous theatre circuit once more. His latest movie, Hit And Run, will be released on Aug. 22, 2012, and stars fellow Broadway actor Kristen Bell, who made her theatrical bow in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer in 2001.
