Brad Pitt - Brad Pitt Insists New Movie Is Not Anti-barack Obama

Talking about his new movie, 'Killing Them Softly', Brad Pitt appears to be treading very carefully, so as not to ruin the cosy relationship that he has with the U.S. president Barack Obama. It's not long since Brad Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie were pictured at the White House with Barack, chatting about the state of the nation and allowing Angelina to talk international politics with Obama. Now, amidst accusations of his latest movie being "anti-Obama," Pitt is treading a fine line between national and personal politics.
Many reviewers at Cannes have surmised that the movie takes a critical view of Obama's administration, and shows his reign as U.S. president as being one of empty promises. According to Pitt and reported by The Wrap, "only part of that is true." The movie sets Obama's 2008 "Democratic National Convention speech" against a landscape of "greed and violence" but Brad insists that this wasn't an attempt to criticize Obama, but rather the footage was used as "a real expression of hope."
The film's director, Andrew Dominick, added that the gangster movie was critical of capitalism, rather than the U.S. government specifically. "I always feel that crime films are about capitalism, because it is a genre where it is perfectly acceptable for all the characters to be motivated by a desire for money," he said."In some ways, the crime film is the most honest American film because it portrays Americans as I experience a lot of them, in Hollywood, as being very concerned with money."
