Boy George's Amy Track

Culture Club singer Boy George has revealed he wrote a song about Amy Winehouse called 'Your Pain Makes a Beautiful Sound' when he was in prison earlier this year.

Boy George wrote a song about Amy Winehouse when he was in prison.

The former Culture Club singer - who was released from Suffolk's Edmunds Hill Prison in May after serving four months for false imprisonment and assault of a male escort - spent his days behind bars writing music and even penned a track about the troubled 'Rehab' songstress.

He told Britain's The Times newspaper: "When I was away, I wrote a lot of stuff, which will be released next year.

"I wrote a diary and songs. I got into trouble because I wrote on the wall: 'Some things are past understanding, you just need a place to land.' It was part of a lyric.

"I actually wrote a song about Amy when I was in prison."

The 48-year-old singer penned the track, called 'Your Pain Makes a Beautiful Sound', about Amy's problematic personal life.

It includes the lyrics: "It was easy to make them love you / All you had to do was sing / Now it's not enough to listen / They want to know everything."

Boy George - real name George O'Dowd - was given a 15-month sentence for an incident with escort Audun Carlsen.

Scandinavian Carlsen, 29, alleged George and an unnamed male attacked him after a drug-fuelled photo shoot.

This is not the first time the 'Do You Really Want to Hurt Me' singer has spoken highly about Amy.

He previously claimed he knew they had a connection when they met at a London police station.

The star said: "I love Amy Winehouse. My favourite thing was seeing her going into Shoreditch police station (in connection to a bribery plot) because that's where I was nicked. It's obviously the pop star cop shop."
