Bono Credits Boys Don't Cry For Helping Him Become A Man
Cher's son Chaz Bono credits Hilary Swank's acclaimed movie Boys Don'T Cry for giving him the courage to change his sexuality.
Bono was born Chastity, the daughter of Cher and Sonny Bono, but he recently underwent a sex change operation - and he admits the 1999 film gave him the courage to chase his dream of becoming a man.
He says, "I think it kind of awoke our culture in a sense. I didn't have, like, an aha moment, but... probably two years after that, after seeing that, was when I started to really figure this out."
