Bono Boosts Girls Aloudby Contributor | 19 February 2009
BONO has been singing the praises of GIRLS ALOUD, saying that the hugely-popular girlband are "cutting edge".
The girls performed their hit song The Promise at last night's Brit Awards (February 18th), which went on to scoop the best single accolade.
U2 frontman BONO whose band opened the ceremony claimed the girls are worthy of a place among contemporary bands such as COLDPLAY and KINGS OF LEON.
"Seriously, I think Girls Aloud are at the cutting edge of pop music. They are a great band and deserve to be centre stage," he said.
"They have everything a pop band should have - songs, the look, it's all there."
Cheryl Cole is said to have flown into a rage when she was asked if the band was splitting up just moments after they collected their award.
"Why would you ask a question like that? We have just won this award voted for by the public," she reportedly replied.
