Embattled Rapper Bobby Shmurda Has Pleaded Not Guilty In His Prison Contraband Case.
The hip-hop star, real name Ackquille Pollard, was re-arrested last month (Jun15) after he was caught in possession of a "sharpened metal instrument" while in jail.
He is currently serving time in New York's notorious Rikers Island, where he reportedly received the object from his girlfriend, Kimberly Rousseau.
On Thursday (23Jul15), the 20 year old pleaded not guilty after he was indicted on perjury, weapons possession and promoting prison contraband charges. If convicted, he faces up to seven years in prison.
He is due back in court in October (15), according to the New York Times.
Rousseau has also pleaded not guilty to promoting prison contraband and criminal possession of a weapon.
Pollard is facing separate charges of murder, gun possession, drug dealing and conspiracy after being arrested as part of a police sting in Manhattan in December (14).
He recently rejected a plea deal for a charge of second-degree possession of a weapon and five years of probation.
