The Hot Boy hitmaker, real name Ackquille Pollard, is serving time in New York's Otis Bantum Correctional Center as he faces a string of charges, including murder, gun possession, drug dealing and conspiracy, following his arrest as part of a police sting in Manhattan in December (14).

Editors at TMZ.com report that prison guards discovered Shmurda and a group of fellow inmates from rival street gangs fighting, and they were forced to break the group up using a "chemical agent" similar to pepper spray.

Shmurda's lawyer refused to comment on the incident when TMZ editors approached him for comment.
