Bob Dylan - Bob Dylan Up For Top French Honour
Bob Dylan has been nominated for France's top cultural honour.
The Lay Lady Lay singer/songwriter is on the ballot for a Legion d'Honneur accolade after missing out on the nomination in previous years.
Grand Chancellor Jean-Louis Georgelin tells Reuters that Dylan's nomination had been thrown out before due to controversy among the council members, prompting experts to speculate his drug use and opposition to the Vietnam War may have cost him the vote.
Last month (May13), Dylan was inducted into the U.S. Academy of Arts and Letters and last year (12) he was awarded America's highest civilian honour, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
