Graham Coxon - Blur Have No Plans To Record New Music This Year
British rocker Graham Coxon has poured doubt on fans' hopes of a new Blur album this year (13), insisting he has no plans to head into the studio with his bandmates.
The Parklife hitmakers, fronted by Damon Albarn, reunited for two big comeback gigs in 2009 and have played a handful of shows since, including a special performance to mark the end of the London Olympics in August (12).
They have not unveiled a new full disc since Think Tank in 2003 - the year they split - and devotees had hoped the July (12) release of their single Under The Westway would soon be followed by plans for an album of fresh material.
However, Coxon claims they have not discussed making a new record and are simply enjoying being back onstage playing their old hits.
He tells the Bbc, "I'm not recording any music but I'm going to do some shows with the big band - Blur - and just go to some fun places and play to some people."
Blur is set to embark on a tour of Europe, while they have also been booked as headliners for California's Coachella festival in April (13).
