Blunt Scared To Confront Critics
Singer JAMES BLUNT has branded his critics "cowards" - but admits he is frightened to confront them face-to-face in case they were misquoted in print.
The You're Beautiful hitmaker is often the target of sarcastic remarks in his native U.K. over his privileged upbringing and former career in the armed forces.
He confesses the comments do upset him - but he's afraid to deal with his critics in person because he can't be sure they are responsible for the remarks.
Blunt tells ShortList magazine, "The only tricky place I have in the world is Britain. I get it nowhere else!... I think people don't say things face-to-face because they're cowardly. It's very hard to know what's real and what's not because sometimes it'll be credited to a 'source'.
"You don't really want to go over and say, 'You're horrid, you said this about me.' If a comedian makes a joke about me it's because I'm an easy reference point because I've put myself in the public eye."
