After making it known that it is looking for a buyer for its Blockbuster Express video rental kiosks, NCR said on Wednesday that it plan to launch a big ad campaign touting the advantages of its kiosks over those of its chief rival, Redbox. (The principal advantage, apparently, is that unlike Redbox users, those renting movies from Blockbuster Express will not have to wait 28 days past the date the movies hit the shelves of retailers. Home Media magazine said on its website on Wednesday that the ad campaign will be unveiled today (Thursday) in USA Today under the banner, "There's a New Kiosk in Town." The ad explains that anyone using a Blockbuster Express kiosk between now and Sunday can get a free one-night rental by using the promotion code SIMPLE at the kiosks.
