Blink 182 - Blink-182 Ready Stadium Rock Tracks For Summer Tour
Blink-182 will debut new tracks with a ''stadium rock sensibility'' on their dual headlining summer tour of the US with My Chemical Romance.
Blink-182 will debut new tracks with a "stadium rock sensibility" on their US summer tour with My Chemical Romance.
The two bands have just announced they will play together over 40 dates across America, where 'What's My Age Again' rockers Blink-182 will unveil the first taste of their comeback album, their first since going on hiatus in 2005.
Guitarist and singer Tom DeLonge told Spin.com: "We have a really great mix of our talents, and what I'm really excited about is how these songs are built for such massive venues.
"I don't want to spit out song titles, but the new stuff builds a lot more. The songs have intros, crescendos, and things that lend themselves to great lighting and loud volume. It's not orthodox punk at all."
The shows will also be the band's biggest since their initial reunion tour dates in 2009, and Tom feels they will reflect how the group has grown in this time.
He added: "These are our biggest shows yet. I think our new record warrants the growth of the band. You know, we've achieved so much more than we've ever imagined, so even if, like, three people show up for the shows, we'll say, 'Wow, that was quite a ride.'"
Tom, 35, also said the band's time apart - in which he worked on his Angels and Airwaves project, while bassist Mark Hoppus, and drummer Travis Barker teamed up for +44, and the latter worked on his first solo effort, 'Give The Drummer Some' - helped reinforce their individual personalities, and bring out more character from each of them, which they have incorporated into their new record.
He added: "We have different skill-sets. Travis is the only guy that can play crazy hip-hop beats but he can also play faster than Slayer. And Mark is the indie rock king."
Support bands for the dual tour - which starts in New Jersey on August 5 and concludes in California on October 15 - include Rancid, Manchester Orchestra, and Matt and Kim.
