Blake Lively - Blake Lively Loved Savages Challenge

Blake Lively loved showing off a different side to her in new movie 'Savages'.

The 24-year-old actress - who is famed for playing Serena van der Woodsen in glamorous TV show 'Gossip Girl' - stars in director Oliver Stone's drug thriller and she admits she loved the ''challenge'' it gave her.

She said: ''I feel like all I've done lately is play really sexually-charged drug addicts. I don't know what's wrong with me. I've gotta go to Disneyland more and get more excitement. I love that it's so different from everything that I've ever known or seen. I love that challenge. I love exploring worlds that are so unknown to me. And having somebody like Oliver made it such a great experience because he gave us so many opportunities.''

Blake made sure she did her research as she wanted to make her portrayal of O, the girlfriend of a marijuana grower who gets kidnapped, as realistic as possible.

She told website collider.com: ''He (Oliver) gave us all the knowledge and information we needed. He brought people in, like DEA Agents. I met a little girl who had been kidnapped by the Mexican drug cartel. We met people in all areas of the marijuana field. Then, we also sat with each other - each character - and really rehearsed this movie.''

Blake Lively Opens Up To Vogue About Marrying Ryan Reynolds: "I Get To Share My Life With The Person He's Become" 4292680 News

Blake Lively is still head over heels for Ryan Reynolds.

The 26 year-old actress, who married the Hollywood hunk in September 2012, is usually very private when it comes to her personal life, but she seems to have had a change of heart.

While covering the 2014 August issue of Vogue, Lively speaks in great detail of affection for Reynolds, her wedding day and the nightmare that nearly ruined it all.

Firstly the blonde bombshell gushed about how the couple is so supportive of one another.

"If I'm working on a movie, he helps me with my character; I do the same with him. Picking out a coffee table," she said.

Adding, "What we're going to eat. He's a beautiful writer-he's written a lot of stuff for us. And he's got a great barometer and he knows me, so he will tell me if it's not as good as it can be."

The acting duo, who first met on the set of 2011's 'The Green Lantern,' tend to keep tight lipped when it comes to their relationship, but Lively did discuss with the magazine the prospect of starting a family.

"He's going to be a great father and leader and patriarch-he's so meant to be all of those things," she said of Reynolds. "The fact that he lived so much before we got together, he's the exact realized person that he should be. And so I get to share my life with the person he's become, and we get to grow from there."

The happy couple, who tied the knot Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, will never forget one specific part of their big day. While their friend Florence Welch performed, sparklers that were given to guests accidently burned Lively's Marchesa gown.

"My dress was hanging up and Ryan said, 'Isn't that beautiful?' I said, 'What?' And he pointed to the burn," she told the mag. "My heart just stopped, because it was such a sensitive little subject. And he said, 'You'll always remember that moment with Florence singing and the sparklers. You have that forever, right there, preserved.' Now that's my favorite part of the dress."

10 Things To Know About Blake Lively's 'Vogue' Cover Interview 4292147 News

Blake Lively is a wife to heartthrob Ryan Reynolds, the idol of many of Gossip Girl obsessed teenage (and older) girl, and a future internet entrepreneur. She's certainly got a lot going for her but we know very little about the 26-year-old actress. So here's what we've learned from her interview with Vogue, the August cover of which she is currently gracing.

This is the third time the former Gossip Girl actress has appeared on the cover of Vogue but there's still plenty to learn about her. So, if you don't feel inclined to read the whole interview, here are ten things you need to know:

10. Senior Citizens

Ryan Reynolds thinks Lively only makes friends with old age pensioners. She's close friends with Ivanka Trump and Ellen Burstyn, greatly admires and lives near Martha Stewart, and has recently met Jane Fonda. Apparently when Lively told her husband she had made friends with Fonda, he said "You only make friends with senior citizens!'

9. Preserve

Lively has spent the past two years working on a website called Preserve, which is about to launch. Yes, it does sound a little like Gwyneth Paltrow's GOOP but will focus more on people around the US who are making things - food, clothes, furniture, etc. - in a traditional crafty way.

Blake Lively
Lively discussed her influences and loves in a recent interview.

8. Humour

She's so deadpan people often mistake her sense of humour for her being "a jerk". Apparently her friends have to laugh loudly whenever she says amusing something to a stranger in order to emphasise how Lively is genuinely being good humoured.

7. Food

Lively is always hungry and absolutely loves food. Strangely enough, it's difficult to hate her for constantly eating - in a Vogue interview last year she revealed she eats chocolate everyday - and still managing to maintain her model like figure. Of food, Lively said "food to me is love. When the whole family comes together, my mom makes a big meal, usually a family dish that was passed down."

6. The South

Lively loves the South almost as much as she loves food. Although the Green Lantern actress grew up in Los Angeles and is the daughter of an actor, she loves the Southern states as her mother grew up in Georgia. She also claims her love of food comes from her Southern origins as well as her love of all things rustic.

5. Gossip Girl

The last season of Gossip Girl in 2012 was so exhausting, Lively took a year off afterwards. As she explained in the interview, she was working constantly and her life existed in the short gaps between takes. She said, "I just needed time to regenerate. And when you're working fifteen-hour days, ten months a year, the only time you have for real life is between takes. So you're not really acting anymore. You're reciting."

4. Her Wedding & Martha Stewart

Lively and Reynold's wedding in 2012 was going to be a "disaster" before Martha Stewart stepped in and took over. Lively cites Stewart as one of her inspirations and described her as "generous and kind". She explained how "Our wedding was becoming a disaster, and we didn't know what to do, so we called Martha! She said, 'Don't worry. I'll handle it.'"

3. Prostitutes

Since appearing in 2010's The Town and then in 2012's Savages, Lively has been type cast in possibly the most bizarre and opposite role - a prostitute! Lively said "You do a movie [The Town] to change the way people think about you, and then they never see you any other way. It didn't help matters that I followed it up with Savages and another sexually charged, drug-addled young woman."

2. Ryan Reynolds

She's looking forward to kids with Ryan Reynolds. She's definitely thinking about the 37-year-old in the long term and has faith in his ability as a future father. Lively said, "He's going to be a great father and leader and patriarch-he's so meant to be all of those things. The fact that he lived so much before we got together, he's the exact realized person that he should be."

1. Her Wedding Dress

Apparently during Florence Welch's performance at her wedding, sparklers were used for dramatic effect and her dress was badly burnt. But Reynolds took an optimistic approach, explaining to his new wife, "'You'll always remember that moment with Florence singing and the sparklers. You have that forever, right there, preserved.'" She added "Now that's my favourite part of the dress."

Blake Lively's Lifestyle Website, Called 'Preserve,' Will Launch Later This Month 4286951 News

Blake Lively is the latest high-profile celebrity to join the lifestyle-brand business.

The Hollywood actress has finally released a name for her forthcoming website, and fans can expect it to launch later this month.

Although details on the upcoming project are still fairly scare, sources have confirmed to E!News that it will be called 'Preserve.'

So what will make this lifestyle product different to all the rest?

"Preserve will focus on artisans and products, many hand-made one-of-a-kind items all selected by Blake," the source continued.

Adding, "Items will be available for purchase through the site. Preserve is all about story-telling through video. Blake will be in some of these videos."

Even though Lively admits she has been "vague" about what her lifestyle brand thus far, she did give out little hints on what to expect in a December (2013) interview with The Cut.

"I'm creating a brand that I felt the need for," she said. "By the time it launches, we will have developed it for two years. So it's a lot of time, energy, efforts, resources, working with amazing people."

Adding, "It will be a site. But not necessarily lifestyle."

"It's about living a very one-of-a-kind, curated life, and how to achieve that," Lively also told British Vogue in September. "There's nothing like it out there - it's without a genre."

The 26 year-old star has now joined a select list of celebrities with their own lifestyle sites, which includes Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, and most recently Ellen DeGeneres.

Beyonce Is A Fashionable AND Charitable Role Model At Chime For Change Anniversary Event 4228853 News

Any and all elevator-related incidents from last month were forgotten at Tuesday night’s Chime for Change anniversary event, held by Gucci director Creative Director Frida Giannini and T Magazine editor-in-chief Deborah Needleman at Gucci Fifth Avenue in New York City, which Beyonce and Solange Knowles attended together. The sisters rocked complementary outfits, with Bey opting for a white halter jumpsuit and Solange sporting white trousers and a bright orange shirt. Very 90s, we approve.

More importantly, Bey reportedly donated a substantial amount of money toward the good cause. "At the Gucci Chime for Change event in NYC, Beyoncé just announced a personal donation of $500,000 to the charity," Women's Wear Daily tweeted. We’re calling that Reason #432556 to like Beyonce.

Despite it being a charity event, the fashion choices were something to behold. We already mentioned the Knowles sisters, but check out Blake Lively’s daring choice. The low-cut, bright yellow dress is accented with pleather at the waist, sleeves and very deep neckline and looks simply adorable. Do want.

Back to the real point of the evening though. According to the website, Chime for Change is a global campaign that helps strengthen and unite the voices of women all around the world.

"We focus on using innovative approaches to raise funds and awareness for projects promoting Education, Health and Justice for girls and women. To date, we've rallied support through a global concert event, a series of short documentary films, a range of technology-driven solutions, and by highlighting the stories of girls and women everywhere who want to see change. With your help, we've funded more than 300 projects in nearly 80 countries. And we're just getting started…," the website states.

Beyoncé is a co-founder, along with Giannini and Salma Hayek.

The CFDA Awards: Was Rihanna Best Dressed At The 'Fashion Oscars'? [Pictures] 4227602 News

If you really matter in the fashion world, then last night (June 2nd) you would have found yourself attending The CFDA awards or the Oscars of fashion, as they’re also known. Being honoured at the ceremony was the bad girl herself, Rihanna, who certainly lived up to her nickname with her risque choice of dress. But while most eyes were focused on RiRi, there were also plenty more head turning looks on this year's red carpet. Here's some of the looks we loved from last night, plus a few we were less decided on.

Blake LivelyBlake Lively chose a 60s inspired look for the evening

After her recent red carpet triumphs at the Met Ball and Cannes, Blake Lively ditched the gowns in favour of a gold beaded Michael Kors mini dress. The actress then topped off her 60s inspired look with a bouffant hair-do accessorised with a thick silver headband plus plenty of bracelets adorning one arm.

Stepping back into the limelight, Solange Knowles attended the show as special guest of Calvin Klein director Francisco Costa. The singer wore one of his creations, a long silk, metallic dress which was perfectly form fitting showing off the singer’s statuesque figure. Model Naomi Campbell also chose a similar strappy metallic gown, which she accessorised with Lorraine Schwartz jewellery.

Lupita Nyong'oIt was another brave choice for Lupita Nyong'o

Lupita Nyong’o made another brave red carpet statement after her divisive Met Ball dress. The Oscar winner teamed an aztec print top with matching culottes designed by Suno. Also taking a fashion risk was Marion Cotillard whose white lace Christian Dior dress was given extra volume with added fabric panels on each side. Sadly this awkwardly shaped dress was a bit of a miss for the usually stylish Marion.

Actresses turned designers Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen both chose to showcase black pieces from their label The Row. The diminutive twins looked a little swamped in their baggy outfits, but they did go home with an award, being named Accessories Designer of the Year.

RihannaRihanna made sure all eyes were on her for the evening

Then there was Rihanna, who was being honoured with the Fashion Icon award and decided to leave little to the imagination. The singer wore a completely sheer custom Adam Selman fishnet dress which was encrusted 216,000 Swarovski crystals. Love it or loathe it, all eyes were on Rihanna for the entire evening, which is just how the singer likes it. The Great Gatsby meets Striptease gown was certainly the talking point of the evening, but she was being named a fashion icon and you don't earn such a title without pushing the envelope sometimes (or in RiRi's case, daily.)

Blake Lively and Suki Waterhouse Lead Our Best Dressed From Cannes Part Two [Pictures] 4207249 News

Last week we were oohing and aahing over the breathtaking display of dresses on show at the Cannes Film Festival. This week, nothing's changed, if anything we’re even more envious of the fabulous fashions coming out of the annual film festival. As the festivities continue, Blake Lively is still our red carpet queen but competition has just gotten stiffer, with Suki Waterhouse, Julianne Moore and even Cheryl Cole showcasing some spectacular gowns as Cannes continues for another week.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds CannesBlake Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds, both wearing Gucci

Let’s start with Blake Lively again, we’ve said it before, we might as well just crown Blake as our red carpet queen for 2014 now. On Friday Blake owned the red carpet again, this time in a stunning monochrome Gucci Premiere gown for the premiere of husband Ryan Reynold’s The Captive. As dreamy as Ryan was in his Gucci tux and white bow tie, it was hard for us to take our eyes off Blake, who, once again, looked every inch the vintage Hollywood starlet.

Making her Cannes debut, model Suki Waterhouse began her asualit on Cannes in a printed navy Armani Prive dress at the Vanity Fair and Armani party on Saturday night. But she really took our breathe away on Sunday in a stunning ink Dior dress for The Homesman premiere. Next the model made it a fashion hat trick when she wore a floral print Peter Pilotto dress to the Relativity 10 party.

Cheryl Cole CANNESCannes, meet Cheryl Cole

Former X-Factor judge Cheryl Cole succeeded in turning a few heads on the red carpet at Foxcatcher’s premiere when she appeared in beautiful black strapless Monique Lhuillier gown with a long flowing train. Her main red carpet rival for the night was Jessica Chastain who chose a gorgeous purple chiffon Ellie Saab creation with one shoulder detailing.

Actress Julianne Moore has had a few fashion hits so far at this year’s Cannes, but she might have outdone herself at the Maps to the Stars premiere on Monday evening in her elegant Chanel feathered gown. Hilary Swank also looked elegant in her silk Bottega Veneta dress worn to the Homesman premiere on Sunday.

The soon to be Mrs Johnny Depp, Amber Heard picked an unusual Vionnet outfit for her Cannes debut, which teamed a white loose fitting top with a sparkling metallic skirt.

Also opting for something out of the ordinary, Marion Cotillard chose a tiered Dior dress for the Two Days, One Night premiere, which featured eye detailing whilst the back and flowed out into a cape. Earlier in the day she took another fashion risk in a custom Margiella minidress which was covered with beads and sequins.

Ryan Reynolds Booed At Cannes For "Ludicrous" Abduction Thriller 4205521 News

Ryan Reynolds was booed at the Cannes Film Festival this week for his latest movie The Captive - an abduction thriller dubbed "ludicrous" by industry mag Variety. In fact, the hostility to Atom Egoyan's movie was so intense that Reynolds was a no-show for the film's afterparty, according to Us Weekly.

"The director renders an already bogus story more preposterous by lathering it in portentous solemnity," said the Hollywood Reporter's David Rooney.

"Has a grownup person written this script? It is embarrassingly unconvincing," wrote Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian.

"This ludicrous abduction thriller plays like an ill-advised assembly of tropes and themes from Atom Egoyan's highlights reel," said Justin Chang of Variety.

A source said that, given Reynolds' movie was booed, he and his wife Blake Lively opted for a "low-key late-night snack" instead and were spotted at the Hotel Martinez terrace restaurant around 1am, whilst the rest of The Captive cast attended the afterparty.

A source told Us: "Ryan definitely seemed a little on edge. Wouldn't be surprised if he skipped out on his party because the film is getting terrible reviews."

Reynolds "seemed preoccupied on his cell phone" while the pair dined at the restaurant.

"[It] looked like Blake was trying to cheer him up a few times . she rubbed his arm like she was consoling him and kept whispering in his ear," the source continued, "At one point, Ryan smiled . and leaned into her for a kiss on the lips."

The Captive, which also stars Rosario Dawson and Mireille Enos, is Reynolds' lowest ranking movie on the Rotten Tomatoes review aggregating website, with just 11%. Set 8 years after the disappearance of a woman named Cassandra, the movie follows a group of police, parents, AND CASSANDRA HERSELF, who try to unravel the mystery of her disappearance. It doesn't have a U.S. distributor, and probably won't get one.

Blake Lively, Nicole Kidman, Kendall Jenner: Our Best Dressed At Cannes 2014, So Far [Pictures] 4198407 News

You can always count on the Cannes Film Festival to have one of the year’s most glamorous red carpets, but this time around the stars just might have outdone themselves. We’re only a few days into the festivities and we’ve already been treated to a dazzling array of gowns to lust after. From Blake Lively to Kendall Jenner, here’s our best of the Cannes fashion so far.

Blake LivelyBlake Lively's stunning Chanel Couture

It might seem too early in the race to declare a winner, but Blake Lively could be this year’s best dressed actress. We’d only just stopped dreaming about her breathtaking Met Ball gown when she arrived at the Grace of Monaco premiere in another dazzling Gucci creation. The two tone red chiffon dress boasted a form fitting bodice and a thigh high slit, while Blake wore her hair pulled back and kept the make-up minimal.

As enamoured as we were with Blake on day one, the actress the took it to a whole other level on Thursday in her stunning embellished Chanel Couture creation. This dress had everything to make us swoon including pockets! Yes a red carpet dress with pockets, there’s just no getting over this one.

Nicole KidmanNicole Kidman in an Altuzarra gown

Of course most of the Cannes spotlight has been shone on Nicole Kidman, whose Grace of Monaco has proved to be the festival’s biggest critical disaster. But where Nicole has been earning rave reviews is on the red carpet. At the Grace of Monaco press conference she opted for a conservative white Altuzarra long sleeved dress. However for her big premiere she looked every inch the Hollywood princess in a beautiful beaded Armani Privé gown. This strapless showstopper was teamed with jewels from Harry Winston while Nicole kept her make-up fresh and wore her hair in a simple ponytail.

More: Grace of Monaco proves a critical disaster

Making her Cannes debut, Kendall Jenner once again showed us that she really is the high fashion sister in this monochrome Chanel Resort gown. The form fitting black dress with given extra edge by its fabric bodice which resembled an oversized corsage.

Zoe SaldanaZoe Saldana in Victoria Beckham

Always high on our fashion radar, Zoe Saldana chose a beautiful white Victoria Beckham dress for the festival’s opening ceremony. She then opted for an equally elegant black and green Jason Wu design for the Mr Turner premiere.

More: Mr Turner earns five star reviews at Cannes

Of course among all the enviable gowns there have been a few fashion missteps so far. Model Karlie Koss’s lace Valentino creation with its sheer panels and wide sleeves was just a bit too busy for the Cannes red carpet. While Julianne Moore also divided opinion in her ensemble which teamed a burgundy leather top with a long graphic print Louis Vuitton skirt.

eLENA LeninaAttention grabbing: Elena Lenina

Then there was Russian actress Elena Lenina, for whom subtlety is never an option. Last year she sported the world’s biggest beehive and this time around she went full on princess in a tiered red ball gown and jewelled tiara. We’re not sure which kingdom she was representing, but from the looks of that tiara we’re guessing Atlantis.

Met Gala 2014 Fashion: The Good, The Bad, The We're Not Quite Sure [Pictures] 4181944 News

Fashion’s biggest annual event took place last night. The Met Gala 2014 is probably the glitziest event of the year, Oscars included, and gives the celebs the chance to really go to town with their attire. Last night’s do was no different, with the world’s top fashion houses grabbing the opportunity to deck out a celeb in their latest designs.
So, who wore what?

The Good

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian Met Gala

To be fair to Kim, at last year’s Met Ball she was heavily pregnant. It can be hard to dress a bump the size of Everest so we’ll (at least try to) forgive the flowery monstrosity (with matching gloves and shoes…slightly harder to forgive) that she showed up in last year. Fortunately, this year she got it spot on, dressed in midnight blue Lanvin with a black silk waist belt.

Suki Waterhouse

Suki Waterhouse Met Gala Suki looked stunning in custom made Burberry

Burberry jumped at the opportunity to dress their hot new model in a head-to-toe custom made design. Suki looked positively dreamlike in her nude lace layered skirt, which she styled just right with a splash of red lipstick and a pair of diamond earrings.

Blake Lively

Blake Lively Met Gala

Marriage must suit Blake, because she’s never looked better. Her figure looked extraordinary in a custom made Gucci Premiere gown, set off by the 1950 screen siren waves in her blonde hair and a statement ring.

The Bad

Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart Met Gala Kristen's Chanel look had just too much going on

Kristen looks undeniably striking in her new Chanel campaign, sadly the look just doesn’t translate off the set. Looking sort of like a glittery hen in head-to-toe Chanel, this look is just too all over the place for our taste.

Katie Holmes

Katie Holmes Met Gala Katie's yellow Marchesa is a bit too dated, in our opinion

Katie’s Marchesa gown just screams oversized grandma’s curtains to us. The colour is garish while the detailing looks like she’s had a nosebleed. Something about coloured taffeta looking material is just too 1980's prom dress.  On the flip side, her hair and makeup looks beautiful.

Best and Worst...Simultaneously

Amber Heard Met Gala Amber Heard looked gorgeous, but Johnny looked too try hard

They may be all loved up, but that doesn’t mean that they’re in sync. Amber Heard looked divine in her Giambattista Valli gown, but Johnny just looked like he was trying too hard. Depp doesn’t seem as effortlessly cool as he once was, perhaps if he stopped trying to be quirky he’d actually be quirky again.

We’re Not Quite Sure

Kirsten Dunst Met Gala Kirsten's Star Wars themed dress was great fun, but was it right for the Met Ball?

On the catwalk we loved Rodarte’s Star Wars themed dresses, but in practice we just can’t make our minds up. Good on Kirsten Dunst for giving such a brave dress a go though!

Leighton Meester Marries Adam Brody: 10 Couples Who Kept Their Wedding Secret 4076407 News

We were all a bit surprised with the news that Leighton Meester and Adam Brody had tied the knot in a secret wedding ceremony over the weekend, but this isn't the first time a celebrity couple have pulled a fast one on us. Here's 10 other celebrity weddings that we didn't see coming.

Adam Brody and Leighton MeesterLeighton Meester and Adam Brody got married over the weekend

1. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds

Leighton might have taken some tips from her 'Gossip Girl' co-star on how to keep her nuptials hush hush. Blake married Ryan in September 2012. Details of the wedding eventually came out through 'Martha Stewart’s Weddings' magazine who helped plan the ceremony. The couple, who rarely hit the red carpet together have managed to so far keep their marriage out of the public eye.

2. Kate Winslet and Ned Rocknroll

The 'Titanic' star and her humorously named husband met when a fire broke out during a holiday in Ned’s uncle Richard Branson’s Necker Island resort.
