Rapper BISHOP LAMONT has blasted reports he has been axed from superproducer Dr. Dre's record label.
The star signed to Aftermath Records in 2005, but reports surfaced over the weekend (04-05Apr09) suggesting he had been dropped from Dre's roster of artists - and was in the process of joining 50 Cent's G-Unit Records.
However, Lamont insists rumours of his label status are unfounded - and blames gossip-hungry detractors for spreading the fake news.
In a video posted online on Sunday (05Apr09), he says, "Last time I checked, I'm still on Aftermath - that's news to me.
"This isn't the first time this has happened. N**gas are gonna do what they gotta do to get attention. Yes, I'm still on Aftermath. I'm the last dude on Aftermath so it's an honour and a tribute.
"I ain't (sic) looking at it (rumours of his firing) like a negative, (but) I just hate when people try to pull out rumours and s**t."
Addressing the G-Unit claims, Lamont adds, "I'm already down with 50. That's already family."
