Billy Joel - Billy Joel & Rihanna Among Acts Challenging Pandora Bosses Over Royalties
15 November 2012Billy Joel and Rihanna are among the artists who have added their names to an open letter to the bosses of online music company Pandora, calling for them to drop a plan to seek drastic royalty payment reductions.
Pandora owners are lobbying U.S. lawmakers to pass the Internet Radio Fairness Act, which would potentially reduce royalty payments to songwriters and performers by as much as 85 per cent.
The letter, which features the names of 125 musicians, will be published in industry magazine Billboard later this week (ends16Nov12).
