Billy Joel Joins Sir Paul Mccartney At Yankee Stadium

Sir Paul McCartney turned the tables on pal Billy Joel again during his concert at Yankee Stadium in New York on Saturday (16Jul11), calling the Piano Man up on stage to join him.

Branding the singer/songwriter "a friend of New York and a friend of Yankee Stadium", MCCartney welcomed Joel for a rousing rendition of I Saw Her Standing There towards the end of his second and final night at the baseball mecca.

The get together came almost three years to the day when MCCartney made a surprise appearance onstage with Joel in 2008 during the My Life hitmaker's Shea Stadium farewell just miles away.

Joel also appeared as MCCartney's guest a year later (09) when the former Beatles star played the first concert at New York's Citi Field.

Saturday night's concert was a spectacular for the ages - with MCCartney performing a string of solo and Beatles hits.

He also paid tribute to John Lennon with the song Here Today, and he began Something on a ukelele once owned by George Harrison.

the us is not a town. it is a three thousand mile COUNTRY. if the "ROYALS" were there, who says they were anywhere near SIR PAUL??He has his own life as do kate and wills, maybe u should look it up in the encyclopedia!!!!How many people did you invite to your honeymoon???throwing stones has a nasty way of biting you in the bum. it would be wise to keep you own council.the wedding was not a state affair, it was a private celebration, that some dignitaries were not invited to, like tony blair

Why even refer to Paul Mccartney as "Sir?" Especially after his upcoming performance for the royal wedding was obviously abruptly cancelled. There is/was no communication between Paul Mccartney & the young royals, even though they are both in the US at the same time. Purhaps the queen should "unknight" him.
