Big Names For Muse's Wembley Gigs

by | 21 May 2007

Muse have managed to rustle up My Chemical Romance and the Streets as support acts for their two Wembley Stadium gigs next month.

The platinum-selling indie band added a second date at the newly-completed Wembley after popular demand and have now succeeded in making the gigs even more attractive after securing the support of two major bands.

Muse will be joined by the Streets and Rodrigo Y Gabriela on Saturday June 16th while one day later My Chemical Romance and Biffy Clyro will appear.

More acts are expected to be announced on the two dates for the 90,000 capacity stadium and, according to reports, the ambitions of frontman Matthew Bellamy are sky-high.

"We wanted to fly a blimp over but there are things we cant do when health and safety get involved," Bellamy told MTV recently.

"We'll do what we can. I was thinking of trying to build some sort of hidden message into the way the stage is laid out," he added.

Last year's Black Holes and Revelations topped the UK albums chart, following the success of their third record Absolution in 2003. The group's last single, Invincible, charted at number 21.
