Big Four Shows Planned For Europe

Heavy metal's dream tour is one step closer to happening - ANTHRAX, METALLICA, SLAYER and MEGADETH will all be on the same bill at the Sonisphere festival in Poland and the Czech Republic in June (09).
News of a 'Big Four' tour hit the headlines earlier this year (09) when Slayer star Kerry King hinted negotiations were underway.
Since then various members of the four acts have spoken for and against the idea - and now the groups will play two Eastern European shows together in June.
Confirming the news, a post on Metallica's website reads, "You've been posting and chatting about it for months and we're here now to confirm it... METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH, and ANTHRAX will all share the same stage for the first time EVER! Look for the four of us at the Sonisphere shows in Warsaw, Poland and Prague, Czech Republic on June 16 and 19, 2010, with a few more of the festival dates still in the works."
The band signs off with, "You can be sure these shows won't be the only ones!"
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich tells Blabbermouth.net, "Who would have thought that more than 25 years after its inception, thrash metal's Big Four would not only still be around and more popular than ever, but will now play together for the first time... what a mindf**k! Bring it on!"
But there's a little confusion about the Eastern European shows as the announcement comes a week after Megadeth's Dave Mustaine stated, "Although there have been many rumours about a reunion of the Big Four set to happen in Eastern Europe next summer, the plan never came together for us."
