Big Audio Dynamite - Big Audio Dynamite Is Back With A Bang
British rocker Mick Jones is hoping to treat fans to new material when he reunites his 1980s band BIG AUDIO DYNAMITE this year (11).
Jones, who founded the punk rock reggae group in 1984 after leaving The Clash, has convinced the original line-up to get back together after 20 years apart.
The band will kick off a U.K. tour in March (11) and Jones is already making plans to debut new tracks after their long hiatus.
He tells the BBC, "It is all the original guys, so thank God we're all still alive. It's very nice to reacquaint ourselves fully... We're going to have to practice. First we're going to do a couple of weeks of pre-production, try to find the old tapes and get the old samples.
"I'm hoping to use a lot of the old gear (instruments) as well because it sounded very different. The old songs have matured with age and there's a possibility we may be able to do some new stuff, who knows? We're going to try and recreate some of the old feelings and look for some new ones."
Big Audio Dynamite has also scored a coveted slot at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in California in April (11).
