Biffy Clyro have cancelled the remainder of their US tour dates.
The Scottish rockers are returning to the UK to allow frontman Simon Neil the chance to recover from a reportedly serious respiratory problem, as he has been advised to rest or risk serious long-term damage.
The singer had struggled at the group's performance at the Coachella festival last weekend and two nights supporting Muse in New York's Madison Square Gardens earlier this week.
As his voice hasn't since improved, it has been decided the band should pull out of the rest of the Muse tour and another scheduled gig at Coachella this weekend.
A spokesman said: ''The band wish to express how sorry they are that they aren't able to carry out the full run of shows, and hope to confirm a new run of North American shows shortly. All UK and European dates this summer should, however, remain unaffected.''
Among their scheduled shows this summer are headline appearances at the Reading and Leeds festivals.
Speaking about their booking, Simon said recently: ''Reading always felt like such an exotic festival. Even though it's been around since the '70s, it just really seemed to come alive in the '90s. I think that's when it became the cultural moment that it is now, and the fixture that it is in the calendar. It's just f***ing bizarre that we're headlining. I still can't get my head around it.''
