Beyonce To Donate Proceeds Of New Single To Charity
The latest single from Beyonce, 'I Was Here', will have all of the proceeds it's single and video make donated to United Nations run humanitarian aid organisations, it has been announced.The singer and song's writer Diane Warren have joined up with the UN run initiative to shed light on humanitarian activities, donating the track from her last album 4 to the cause. As previously mentioned, all profit made by the single and the video will go straight towards the UN's global campaign, which aims to encourage normal people to get involved in charitable work and help out others.
The video for the new single is due to be filmed at the UN General Assembly Hall in New York in front of a live audience, that may not consist entirely of dignitaries.
A website for the campaign was launched yesterday (August 2nd), with the aim of providing an opportunity for do-gooders to share their experiences of charity, in the hope that others will follow their lead and do good for others the world over.
The single will be officially released worldwide on the 19th of August 2012, which happens to be the Un-launched World Humanitarian Day, a day that marks when 22 people lost their lives in an attack on the UN offices in Baghdad in 2003.
